Vegas Baby

When The Wizard of Oz first came to The Sphere in Vegas, it was instantly on my mama’s bucket list. When she retired in January, I thought it was a perfect time to plan a special trip! I found Tickets to Vegas in May and mama and I were headed to Vegas!

I gifted her the trip in February so we had a few months to plan our outfits and our trip! We were going purely for the show, arriving Monday and coming home Wednesday – of course we had to make the most of our time. I even made a fun travel charcuterie board for the plane.

I had never been to Vegas but I knew food, drinks and atmosphere needed to be the best of the best. I also wanted to see those iconic Vegas places. I used ChatCPT HEAVILY for this trip- we had a tight schedule and needed everything planned to a t. I highly recommend using the app as a mini travel agent. It gave us walking distances, when we needed to call an uber and places we should have reservations for- so let’s get into our itinerary.

Monday

We arrived around 2:15pm and the first stop was the Welcome To Las Vegas sign. Totally touristy- but the photo had to be taken. The wait was a bit long, but there was someone there to take your photo and everything so. it was definitely worth it.

We were not staying right on the strip, so we went straight to the hotel to relax for a bit, unpack and clean up. The theme was GLAM – so mom and I dressed in our sparkles.

We headed to the strip for or 5:15 HGH ROLLER Happy Hour reservation. This is basically a giant ferris wheel with little cans that have a bar inside. We hopped on, had all you can drink and saw the entire city of Vegas from above. This was such a great opportunity to see everything, especially the sphere. The ride was about 30 minutes then we started walking!

We stopped into The Flamingo to see the actual flamingos and play the slots! I won about $100 then we jumped into the uber for our next reservation.

We head to The Chandelier Bar inside The Cosmopolitan. This bar was so cool, it was like you were inside a chandelier- we had aa lounge reserved and had fancy drinks-it was nice to sit and relax out of the 100 degree + weather. After cocktails we went upstairs for dinner.

We dined at Momfuko- which has been on a short list of restaurants to visit for a while, and it totally lived up to my expectations. We sat at the bar and ordered a few appetizers to share.

Appetizer:

Kanpachi Crudo -chili jam, caviar lime, fish sauce

Bigeye Tuna- shaved foie gras, seasonal fruit, sicilian pistachio

Caviar Course paired with a glass of Veuve

Caviar Bun- fried chicken, white sauce, chives

Entree {Take on a Surf & Turf}

Pork Belly Buns- hoisin, scallion, cucumbers

Shrimp Buns- spicy mayo, pickled onion, iceberg

Sides

Brussels Sprouts – pineapple vinaigrette, chiles, herbs

Crispy Squash- coconut lime yogurt, chili crunch, mint

For Dessert we went right next door to Milk Bar- I have also been dying to visit. We got corn flake ice cream and a sweet and salty cookie and headed to the Bellagio. We finished the night on the street admiring the fountains then head home.

Tuesday

It’s show day, but we have a lot to see before then! We headed to Paris for coffee- the inside of this hotel was amazing, so we walked around drinking out coffee. We had brunch reservations at Alexxa’s. This meal did not disappoint – my only suggestion, i’d go with a large party so you can order the huge cocktails out of a disco ball.

We sat on the patio over looking the strip, mom got s limoncello cocktail and I had a mimosa. The menu was insane and hard to pick form but here is what we ordered:

AVOCADO & BURRATA TOAST
Freshly Baked Croissant, Burrata, Sundried Tomatoes, Basil

FRESH FRUIT TOWER
Seasonal Exotic Fruit, Coconut Whipped Cream

SNOW CRAB OMELET
Deep Sea Snow Crab, Asparagus, Muenster, Hollandaise, Garden Herbs, Alexxa’s Breakfast Potatoes, English Muffin

After brunch we saw as much as we could. We walked through Caesar’s Palace and went to the Bellagio to see the glass and the botanical gardens. From there we went to New York New York to walk and shop. I picked up souvenirs for the girls here at this incredible soap shop! Mom got gelato to cool down and we headed back to the hotel to relax.

We had to be at The Sphere at 4:15 so we took a little down time and got ready to go. We dressed up at Glinda and Poppies! We had so much fun getting all dolled up!

The Sphere was incredible and there was so much to take in Before the show, we took tons of photos, ordered festive cocktails and popcorn. The show was absolutely amazing- we both cried.

After the show we walked over to the Venetian. They had a gorgeous pop up for more Wizard of Oz photos. We did some shopping, and I got to pick out my belated birthday gift. We saw the gondolas and headed to dinner.

We had 8pm reservations at Lavo- and I was ready for a decadent Italian meal.

Appetizer:

Tuna Tartare- avocado, carta di musica, black olive dressing

Shared Salad:

Caesar della Casa- romaine hearts, croutons, classic dressing

Entree:

Truffle Ricotta Cavatelli- crema, mushroom ragu, shaved truffle

Dessert

Tiramisu- mascarpone crema, espresso, lady fingers

At this point we were both exhausted and ready for bed so we did just that.

Wednesday we had breakfast at the hotel and headed off to the airport. What a fabulous trip with my mom and something we will never forget! Viva Las Vegas

XO
