This past week we took the second annual Cruise for Charlie with some friends and family. This year we took the Celebrity Beyond to Puerto Plata, St. Kitts and best of all, St. Thomas. The boat was a sister ship to the Celebrity Ascent which we were on last year, so we knew our way around.
Sunday Feb 15
We met early Sunday morning in Miami and to right on the ship! We headed to our rooms to drop our things. We stayed in the Retreat which is a level up in the cruise world- so the rooms and accommodations are elite. After that we went to the Magic Carpet, just as we did last year to have a welcome cocktail and burgers.
We went to the room mid afternoon to unpack, relax and meet the butler, yes, butler. Every suite in the retreat has a butler, and this year we really took advantage of this perk. We had two requests for him, coffee service every morning at 7:30am and cocktails every day at 5pm- let me tell you. I miss him already.
We headed up to the top deck for the sail away party and had cocktails as we watched Miami disappear in the distance. We changed and met for dinner in the Luminae. We had a great first dinner and did a few game shows after dinner.

Monday February 16
First Day at Sea. Danny and I did breakfast at the restaurant, then headed straight to the pool. We found a few seats in the sun and stayed put all day. Cue the Pina coladas and pool side sandwiches- yes, I got fried.
Our goal on this trip was to explore the ship a little more. We went to Eden at the back of the boat to meet for cocktails. There was an incredible menu and live music, After dinner we sat in the main atrium to people watch and play a REALLY fun card game we bought on board.

Tuesday February 17
We woke up in the DR, enjoyed the sunrise from our balcony and watched the boat pull in. We ventured off the boat and found some lunch in the shade. I had to have a giant pineapple with Pina colada in side and it did not disappoint. We filled the rest of the day pool side before dinner.
For dinner we went to the Steak House for our special steak dinner which was out of this world. After dinner, our favorite activity- the silent disco, where we danced our butts off until bed time.

Wednesday February 18
The day we had been waiting for, our day on St. Thomas. We had not been back since we moved away 2018. We had the entire day set up meeting old friends and seeing our favorite places. We made it out to the Italians for a bottle of prosecco and a little shopping – then back to Magen’s. It’s hard to put the days emotions seeing our old stomping grounds, familiar faces and the people and places we love.

We got back on the boat as late as we could, quickly changed and sat on the Magic Carpet as the sun sets. We sailed away around 730 and sat at the Sunset Grill to watch the island fade away.
We had a late dinner at the Luminae and could barley finish after a long day and a few rum punches.

Thursday February 19
Woke up in St. Kitts and headed off purely to see the island. We saw the cute little monkeys, grabbed a drink and some souvenirs and got right back on the boat. A hot day at port, meant a dip in the pool on board. I went to the Spa for a much needed deep tissue massage at 3- then straight to the room to get ready.
We attended a private Captains Cocktail hour before dinner- then the usual game shows at night!

Friday February 20
Up early to reserve a few chairs by the pool- then enjoyed the ay at sea soaking up the sun- spent the afternoon back at the spa for a facial!
Tonight was forma night, so we got all dressed up, met at Craft social for a cocktail then headed to dinner. We attended the private Silent Disco for more singing, dancing and fun.

Saturday February 21
The last full day at se and we soaked up every second. We all met in the dining room for a nice breakfast then back to the pool for some sun and pool time.
We took lunch back to the room around 1 to take a beak from the sun and pack. We did an early cocktail hour in our coverups at the Sunset grill which has the BEST Views. One final get ready and to the dining room for dinner.

An absolutely fabulous trip, I can’t believe it’s already over.
xo,
Kelsey
