Brennan has been obsessed with puppies for as long as I can remember, so when she asked for a Puppy Party, it was a pretty quick YES. I don’t typically like to do themes that have been done a lot, but I was excited to take on the challenge and make it something different. As always I start with a mood board. I chose some things I have had saved for a LONG time, like the colorful dog from Mr. Boddington, The pile of puppies wallpaper by Chasing Paper and some sweet party inspo by Kelley Diaz. I added in some other colorful images from Pinterest and that was the concept.

Take a look back at Brennans Past Parties One | Two | Three
As per usual I held the party at home, in my kitchen. We had a small guest list of family and it was the perfect day.

The Favors
These sweet dog houses were the first things I bought. I LOVED how funky the dogs were and the floral houses were just different enough! I snagged all three styles and worked the rest of the party around them. I had the honor of working with a new local vendor Your Balloon Dream and together we conceptualized some amazing installations, builds and balloons for the party! First things first, a build for these sweet houses. I wanted the favor wall to be colorful and contrasting with pattern. I got two panels of Chasing Paper Puppy Piles wallpaper for the back build. I have had this wallpaper pinned on my pinterest board for longer than I can remember and I am so thrilled to have finally used it. We did a purple build in front with coral shelves and the colors were TOO GOOD. Funny story, when the Your Balloon Dream team arrived at my house to install Friday night. The builds (which were supposed to fit between the hutch and the patio door), didn’t fit. I don’t love when my plan gets altered BUT I always know these things happen for a reason and I believe to be a party planner your strongest suite has to be problem solving. SO we quickly shifted gears and placed both builds behind the table and added an unplanned balloon garland (Danny’s Idea BTW).

I am so thrilled with how it turned out because my favorite items were the star of the show, they were in the best lighting and placed behind the table, my pride and joy.
The Table
You know I LOVE a good table scape. There are some seriously fun puppy plates out there but I needed COLOR. I wanted to add in tennis balls to add in chartreuse and it was beyond perfect. I used a combination of tennis ball plates, purple ceramic plates and teal paw prints. I worked with Suburban Soiree to design custom napkins that read “That’s so Fetch” a Mean Girls reference of course. I layered those with the sweetest puppy napkins from Meri Meri. Adding in a little black and white is always a good idea. I repeated just that with the silverware and had Floral Dust create acrylic paw print silverware holders. You can’t forget the cups, I used my favorite melamine cups and altered pink poodle and tennis ball stir sticks.
The center of the table is all about layers. I stated with a watercolor stripe table runner, added confetti, confetti charms and paw print garlands. To add height I added a few small cake stands filled with treats, and of course FLORALS.

The Florals
This officially marks a year of doing my own florals for the girls parties, and I have to say it’s my FAVORITE thing! For me it’s all about the vase. I snagged a cute Dog planter from target to add character and used the same colorful vases from last summer. Throughout the arrangements I added tennis balls on floral wire, it added the pop of chartreuse and whimsy I was looking for. I added some fun things to the vases as well, the green one was the exact shade as a tennis ball so I wrapped it with a matching ribbon and a tennis ball tag from Acrylic sticks. I also added puppy patches to the front of several vases to give them a unique look.

The Bar / Cake Table
I snagged this credenza this spring for party closet overflow and it makes the more perfect cake table. I was so excited to fill every nook and cranny with sweets, treats and trinkets. I placed this on my half wall and Your Balloon Dream created the coolest Mosaic letters to spell FETCH. She mixed balloons and real tennis balls to create this incredible show stopping install. I used the credenza for all treats as well as the bar.

Drinks were simple, of course the adults needed their Hair of the Dog. I served Greyhounds and Dog Days of Summer IPA. For the kids I had two taps filled with water and Pink lemonade with “Water bowl” “Pink Poodle” tags from Chalk Designs by Me. The treats had to be extensive of course. I made trail mix “Kibbles and Bits” and Puppy chow and served them in treat bag with custom stickers by Itsy Bitsy Parties. They were perfect because the kids could grab and snack or they could take them home after the party.

The cake was a force to be reckoned with. The Sugar Bug never cess to amaze me, she took inspiration from the patches throughout the party and the envelope lining with tennis ball florals. The color was just perfect and I topped it with little party pups and gold candles.

The Menu
Along with snacks and cake we had cupcakes with the cutest Dog toppers, hand painted cookies and the most incredible macrons by Soiree Macarons. The Macs had paw prints, shaped as tennis balls and my favorite, the hot dog.

I LOVE a party with a coordinating SIMPLE menu, and for us it was hot dogs. Danny grilled up some hot dogs with all the fixing, we made corn dogs as well and served them next to pasta salad and Paw-tato chips, in custom packaging of course. It was simple and delicious.

The Activities
The kids definitely kept busy for this party, it was the first time we had a bounce house and it was a HUGE hit! They jumped their little hearts out and it made for the perfect photo op. I also got to work with Hip Hooray Studios, She creates the most adorable parties in a box. She sent me everything we needed to create the cutest puppy frames. The kids got to paint, decorate frames and make adorable little collars. I set up all of the crafts in front of a balloon garland and it was the perfect thing to take home.

The Outfits
As per usual the girls rocked the cutest dresses from Pink Chicken. Brennan wore pink poodles, Denver wore bulldogs and Ray was in floral. The party hat might have been my favorite to date, the yarn made tiny tennis balls and the bouncing bones were so whimsical and perfect! I wore a cute little Hot Dog themed tank and a pleated stripped skirt.

The Flatlay
My very favorite piece of any party. The Winnie and Haze party hat was the center of attention followed by the most incredible hot dog invitation by Itsy Bitsy Parties. I included all the custom cookies, gilded designs by Lauren Glass, fun wallpaper samples and all the little tidbits that made this party magical.

It was truly a dream for miss Brennan, and to end the night we projected a movie on the back of the bounce house and had a sleep over under the stars. A fourth birthday to remember. Once again this party would not have been possible without all these incredible vendors to make it come to life! And special shout out to Lynda for sending me all the fun details I didn’t know I needed.
And to Renee for once again capturing the magic of Brennan’s birthday so I have something to stare at for years and years to come.
