My baby girl is ONE, I can’t believe it. We threw her an Anthropologie inspired birthday party yesterday and it was beyond fabulous. I have been dreaming about this party since Christmas, you can see where the idea began and my inspiration here.
The planning and pulling together ideas is really my favorite part, party day I am a stressed out mess! I will break the party down a little for you so I can share ALL the details, cause, you know it’s all about the details!
Lets start with the flat lay, it has become my favorite thing to shoot for a party, I really get to see all the details come together and highlight the small things that could get lost or over looked on party day. To start, the INVITATION. This is the first time I had her invite made for me, but I knew it needed to be extra special. Itsy Bitsy Parties NAILED it, the texture and the scalloped edges were off the charts. My other favorite part of the flat was the magical had embroidered wand by Kiss You Co, it is the sweetest addition, and a forever keep sake.
There were four “areas” at the party, which actually all had to change a bit from my original plan because of crazy wind. The plan was to have the entire party outside but we had flying disco balls and balloons on the roof, so I changed somethings. We had the food, table, cake, and play.
Because of the texture and disco balls, I went with an underlying 70’s theme- so of course, we had FONDUE. We kept all the food inside as planned, serving cheese and chocolate fondue
ON THE MENU
served with Artichokes, Artichoke Hearts Sourdough, Carrots, and Bacon
served with Pretzels, Marshmallows, Apples, Strawberries, Waffles and crushed Graham Crackers
Behind the food table I had my DIY paper plate backdrop and added the balloon garland above it! It was the safest place for both installations, and although it was not what I planned I loved how it turned out. On the table I used custom fondue skewers and small scalloped plates, it made for easy snacking! And you know ALL my Anthropologie Latte bowls. I rested each fondue pots on the amazing placemats from Rice by Rice and added a few poms and disco balls of course. The balloons were a custom mix by Studio Pep and I finished them with pampas grass from Blush Pella. This color way is my new favorite.
A crucial part of any party! We kept it very simple, mostly, champagne in adorable pink coup glasses, peach sangria and lemonade for the kids. The glasses all had custom tags reading “Happy Birthday” “Brennan Garland” and “Made of Magic” they gave the cocktails that extra something, they were perfect! I used my drink canisters I’ve had for years and finished them with drink tags and poms of course! (poms by Kiss you Co & Fancy Free Finery).
Y’all, I made this cake, and I am SO proud. I was obviously on the phone with my girl Alexis from Suga Mama’s Bakery every 5 minutes, but I love how it turned out. It was adorned with the most amazing cake topper and poms by Fancy Free Finery. I also did a tiny smash cake for B and topped it with a little topper that matched her invite. But the BEST part of where the cake sat, was the AMAZING fringe backdrop created by Glam Fete, talk about a show stopper. We ended up moving the fringe around when the wind picked up, but I am not mad, cause its in ALL the pictures. Seriously, my favorite feature of the party!
Setting The Table
Ultimately, this is my favorite part of the party, as you know I am obsessed with creating tablescapes and I was so excited to create and indoor feeling outside. My husband created a custom table to use the built in bench we have in our back yard. I added tons of table cloths, pillows and blankets to give it a cozy feel. I used large scalloped plates, with small colorful plates like I used in my backdrop. Each setting had custom wooden flat ware, a little favor and the coolest melamine colorful cup. The macrame table runner and sprinkled disco balls added the texture I wanted. I used a piece of the Glam Fete fringe to the background, and had to have a garland as well! I even added BRENNAN to the fringe to mimic Anthopologies logo. Seriously obsessed with each setting and look how the disco balls create mirrored confetti. I DIE.
The birthday girl had to have a special outfit and party hat, of course, he outfit was a little big and I never shot a pic of her in her bathing suit, but the party hat was beyond perfection! The girls had the most adorable outfits from Gap, and special Rolly Polly magic bows to match. My dress is from the amazing Alice Becker Inc, a local shop, I was so comfortable and felt amazing!
Favors: I went to Itsy Bitsy party again to do my tags and boxes, I filled with toys and sweets
Monthly Photos: I displayed each photo on one of our ladders and adorned with a Chalk Designs by Me tag and pom garland.
A Place to Play: I had to have the scalloped Mini Dip pool for the kids to play and a ladder full of towels for easy access.
Memories: I love having a book for everyone to sign as a guest book, I save it and will give to the girls on their 18th birthday,
And a few more snaps for good measure!
It was the first time in WAY too long we got to see our family, and it was so amazing to celebrate our beautiful baby girl! As always, I could NOT have executed this party one without my husband and two without all the STELLAR small shops. Without their contributions I would not have been able to create this magic for Brennan. Everyone is tagged below!
