Nursery Reveal

The nursery has been done for a while now, but I wanted to wait until Brennan was here so I could reveal her name along with the room. She has so many sweet custom pieces, the room would not have been the same with out showing you everything. I also had Meredith capture some details during our at home photoshoot.

The first thing I bought when I found out we were having a girl was this “No Boys Allowed” print by Jeff Mindell from Society 6. I loved the pink wall and balloons, capturing the ‘party’ theme I really wanted to subtly have in both the nursery and the girls room. I found a gold frame from a local frame store which really popped on the white wall.

All the furniture in her room was purchased back when I was pregnant with Denver and has literally been used every day since. I am so glad I got classic, all white pieces, it has been so easy to plan three different nursery’s around the same furniture. Again, all white bedding to keep the clean palette and make them easy to clean. I made a mobil for above the crib and I’m obsessed with how it turned out. I was inspired by one I found on Anthropologie, but put my own twist on it. I handmade some tassels, hung some yarn and added this gorgeous garland by Maddox and Klaus to bring out all the colors of the nursery and add a little whimsy.

On the large wall I hung a round shelf from Target to showcase some sweet keepsakes, like her great grandmothers wooden train, tiny shoes and her first stuffed animal from Baba. I leaned a thrifted ladder next to the crib for all the swaddle blankets and extra wraps. I added a fuzzy pink rug underneath to add a little more color and texture.

The rocker was a find from a local St. Thomas store called Cash and Carry, it’s meant to go outside, but my husband painted it and it makes the PERFECT rocker! Behind it hangs a custom piece from Against The Grain. I am so in love with this wooden sign, and working with the owners of this small shop was a dream. Brennan’s name is so special to us, (you can find who she’s named after here) and I absolutely love how its showcased. The natural wood stain really accents other features in her room and the peach and white gives that girly pop.

The changing table is just a dresser with a changing pad. This has always worked best for us, that way we can use the dresser forever. We added some natural wood knobs to the top drawers that are filled with everything we need for diaper changes. On top of the dresser I kept it simple because Ray is still in diapers and she messes with everything. I have a soft lamp for late night changes, a little basket filled with burp cloths, lotion and diaper cream and a small box of bows. I found the coolest clear plastic box from Urban outfitters and its perfect for all the headbands I’ve set aside just for Brennan.

Of course, there’s her closet which you can peek inside here, and storage above. Her storage doors did not come with knobs so I added some Anthropologie knobs that I couldn’t use anywhere the girls could get to. I love the detail it added to her room.

Last but not least, her little gallery shelf. I really wanted a place to hang bows, bonnets and wraps. This shelf just happened to come with the house, it was originally in the master bathroom, but I thought the wood and the sweet little heart was perfect for the nursery. I leaned a couple pieces of artwork, including this Who Runs The World print and more framed Studio Pep confetti. (This is the confetti we used to announce Brennan was a girl). I hung more of her bows and filled the basket with bows still in their package. Her Briar Handmade bonnets– which are all too pretty not to have displayed, hang as well as a couple of my Solly wraps. My favorite thing on here is the Mimi and Lei rainbow. I had this custom made with colors to match her room and a gorgeous metallic thread. I also had 5 metallic stars added representing the now FIVE members of our family! I have her BABY Chatbook and ‘Brennan’ name announcement by Fancy Free Finery up there as well and I love the way it all looks together.

The room is adorned with a sweet custom ‘Brennan’ tag and our ‘It’s A Girl’ sign by Chalk Designs by Me- which are beyond special. The closet is also filled with these tags to keep me organized!

The room is a tranquil oasis and I just love being in here, and so does Brennan (can you see her snoozin in the crib?).

A huge thank you to Against the Grain and Chalk Designs by Me for making such treasured pieces for Miss Brennan. Now we need to upgrade from just napping in her room to sleeping through the night in here as well. Maybe another day!

xo,

Kelsey
