Jamie’s Gender Reveal

When I found out my girlfriend, Jamie was pregnant with her second baby- I basically forced my self on her to throw her gender reveal! Her son Carter and Denver are the same age (like a week or so apart), so we’ve been in this mom thing together from the start.

When she found out Carter was a boy she had Suga Mama’s Bakery bake her blue reveal cake- this time we both though confetti was the way to go! I thought the Studio Pep confetti tubes we carry at Suga Mama’s would be PERFECT!

I was inspired by the Gold and white tubes, so we ran with that color scheme. We started planning a little Happy Hour at one of our local outdoor bars and I’m doing a festive table scape!

The details

Of course, Suga Mama’s Bakery did sweet treats and I got the amazing confetti from her new party shop. I ordered these adorable “oh baby” blocks from Anthropologie and they will act as a gust book for people to sign. I had the husband make a chalk board so people could cast their vote on what they thought the sex would be! I made this super easy ribbon garland to add a little pink and blue.

I hung letter balloons that read “OOH BABY BABY” from Studio DIY and I made the tassel garlands out of white tissue paper and gold tape and finished the table with my white Hooray Everyday garland.

The dessert

Alexis made mini cupcakes, mini macarons and cake pops- they were all white and gold and simply gorgeous. I displayed the treats on her clear cake stands by Poppies for Grace and filled them with white balloons! I also used my Hearth and Home tray and a marble cake stand from target.

The drinks

We were at the Box Bar and I didn’t want to take a lot of business from them, so I just did two cocktails- one pink and one blue. I did Rosè on tap with a ‘Rosè Ba-by’ drink tag by my girl Miranda of Chalk Designs by Me. For the blue drink I did a ‘blue’berry mojito mocktail- I wanted something the mama to be could enjoy!

I instructed everyone to wear pink or blue and had Chalk Designs by Me make an ‘it’s a GIRL’ and ‘it’s a BOY’ sign for me. Jamie could keep the relevant one! For gifts we just said bring diapers or wipes, which is SO smart and a great way to stock up!

SURPRISE!

Another little boy is on the way! I got the results early so I could purchase the confetti, I bought an extra tube to make this sweet keepsake, the scans of “it’s a boy” framed with the confetti! (I did this with Ray’s birthday confetti, DIY post coming soon!) I wrapped it in craft paper and had her open it after she found out!

I had SO much fun planning this and I love that all the decorations are keepsakes and can be displayed in the nursery if she wants! I’m over the moon for you Jamie, can’t wait to meet that little boy!
