Dining Room Makeover with {Plank + Beam}

I can’t believe it, but we have been in our home for ONE YEAR! Buying this house was such a milestone for us, we love it so much and little by little we are making it our own. Our dining room is a special room, every party is thrown inside, Christmas dinners, the home of the hutch and more. While we use it for all the special occasions, we wanted it to get the everyday attention it needed. It was time for a little makeover.

The house has a built in bar with wine storage and a wine cooler- beautiful white counter tops and shelves to hold all the goodies! Because it is such a small alcove, we thought it would be super easy to go bold inside!

We started with a whimsical wallpaper that felt appropriate for a bar. Danny is in the wine business, and I love the art of a cocktail. This print reminded me of Island drinks, and our love for a bar. We chose Fresh Artichoke by Behr to paint the walls we didn’t wallpaper. It had that olive look to it, and felt perfect.

The dining room needed one more major change, so I called up my friends over at Plank and Beam. We upgraded our kitchen table and chairs with them earlier this year, and since then we have not had a single meal in the dining room since. The kitchen chairs were SO much more comfortable, we fell in love. I browsed around their website and found these gorgeous cream cushioned chairs. I loved that the light color of them made our very special doing room table pop. The wood accent matched perfectly and they are beyond comfortable.

The entire room feels cozy, creamy and inviting for all the holidays, events and even week night dinner ahead.

My sweet friend, Kerissa, just moved to the Charleston area and took some gorgeous photos of our first major home project! You can shop everything HERE!

XO,

Kelsey
