Miami Swim Week {with Sonya’s}

I have been a part of the Sonya’s team since 2019. Located on St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, they are the home of the Original Crucian Hook bracelet and many other iconic island pieces.

We had the opportunity to go to Miami Swim week with Flying Solo and show our collection on the runway. They invited me to join them in Miami to handle the show and create content throughout the weekend. I of course said YES- so here is a little look at the most amazing weekend!

We had the team come in from the Virgin Islands, including out on island content creator, Carolyn Carter aka That Island Girl. We spent the days together creating ALL THE THINGS. We did countless shoots while exploring Miami!

Places to See

Okay, my favorite part was the colorful lifeguard stands. We woke up at 5am to catch them as the sun was coming up and not have many interruptions, and that still wasn’t enough time to enjoy them all.

We visited several “instagrammable” places for photos but are top of the list to visit! Strawberry Moon pool inside The Goodtime Hotel. This entire hotel is aesthetically pleasing- but the pool and bars are next level. the pink and white cabanas, teal palm tress and branded coconuts were pure bliss.

Inside they have an all pink Library and Art Deco bar with killer cocktails. If you are just going for the pool, you have to go after 12 o clock- don’t bring a beach bag, just a purse and expect a $50 cover fee.

We also headed to the Faena Hotel to see the giant gold wolly mammoth, BUT the entire property was AMAZING. They had a beautiful pool and bar, hidden jungles and beach access! 10/10

Places to Eat

Night One: Smith and Wollensky– I had dinner with and IG friend, Steph Scurlock. We wined and dined on the water. I have actually been to this location before and loved it! It is a great choice for a nice dinner $$$$

Night Two: Serena– Roof top bar with tables and lounge options. It is located on top of the Moxy Hotel (p.s. take the elevator up, it’s worth it). Here we had amazing spicy margaritas and tons of appetizers. Everything was amazing, we ordered a little bit of everything and left happy! We actually went back the last night and had Pina Coladas which were the best I’ve ever had. $$$

Day Three: Rosetta Bakery– We went here for a late breakfast and it was amazing. Authentic Italian Bakery with breads, sweets and coffee $

Night Three: Havana Vieja– This cuban style restaurant was authentic and amazing. We all got mojitos that were served with Sugar Cane. The empanadas were a favorite! Also a great spot to get Cuban Sandwich (Only served at lunch) $$

Day Four: Naked Taco: This place was BOMB. They sold single tacos so you could mix and match! I got the truffle streak, Baja fish and more. The flavors were amazing. We had Strawberry basil Margaritas an amazing Tuna app to start. $$

We had guacamole from pretty much every menu, just sayin.

Where to Stay

We stayed at the Fairwind Hotel. It was great, right in the heart of south beach and connected to Sola an adorable restaurant and bar!

The Goodtime Hotel: was also at the top of the list, the ammenities alone within the hotel are worth it.

Moxy hotel: Another amazing location with several great bar and restaurant options within the hotel.

The Fashion Show

The Fashion show itself was such an amazing experience. Everyone was moving and grooving there were models and designers everywhere. The show was on a long fountain at Sola, they set it up beautifully and had the models walk the runway all Monday Afternoon. What an honor to watch Sonya’s walk the runway.

Prepare for a party when in South Beach, it was always hopping and loud but really made for a fun trip!
